Knowledge Base for Climate Change Resiliency
Inclement weather presents an unprecedented challenge to the productivity and profitability of agriculture across the globe. Sporadic weather like drought and flooding create the most obvious damage, but hot summers, warmer winters, longer growing seasons and other environmental changes are having a detrimental effect on plant and livestock growth and development. Which begs the question, how did our ancestors and indigenous communities cope with Climate Change? Both groups had little to nothing in terms of amenities and technology. This Climate Change Knowledge Base is a web-based platform that provides climate information capacity building and knowledge development to a wide range of users and in particular farmers. It contains global, regional and country specific data about historical and future climate vulnerabilities. In addition, it provides links to data and tools that provide comprehensive solutions to farmers. This information allows users to explore, evaluate, synthesize, and learn about various projects or policies that can be implemented to reduce climate-related vulnerabilities and risks.
